2020, it’s been a year

Whew, what a year! We will remember 2020 as the year COVID spread to 72 million worldwide and resulted in 1.6 million deaths (as of writing), as the year millions of people lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic with many industries struggling to find a viable way out, and as the year the murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery ignited the Black Lives Matter movement.

We will also remember 2020 as the year Kamala Harris, the first woman and woman of color was elected Vice President, as the year SpaceX launched two astronauts into space - the first astronauts to launch from US soil in nearly a decade, as the year our communities have come together to support each other whether with a daily 7pm cheer for frontline workers or with Giving Tuesday numbers predicted to surpass even 2019’s record setting $400+ million. The silver-lining to everything that has happened this year is that it has exposed the deep structural and systemic inequalities throughout our country. Now that we’ve seen how broken things are, we can get to work.

Amazing job to everyone taking steps to align your money with your values. We are immensely proud to know you and feel so inspired by your kindness, empathy, and motivation to create change. We’re grateful for all of your support and wouldn’t be where we are without you. Let’s keep fighting the good fight.

Here’s a look-back at what we’ve been up to this past year.
